2016 Suzuki Swift hybrid mode disabled

My car has gone rogue! Even though the battery was about to burst, the hybrid mode decided to take a vacation. When I hit the gas, the electric motor sits on the sidelines. Anyone know how to get it back into hybrid mode? Help a confused driver out!

Hmm try having the battery load tested. They hold less charge when they age, reducing fuel efficiency and limiting electric-only driving because they cannot deliver power as effectively.

This happened to me as well, what I did was temporarily disable the start-stop function and get your battery load tested. JHouse is right, they hold less charge as they age. This might be the cause of your disabled hybrid mode.

It just might mean that its time for a battery replacement or a faulty wiring is at fault here. How many years have you been driving this car for? and have you contacted your local dealer about this?

Did it happen after you recharge a dead battery? Is the light blinking or is it just solid? If those other suggestions didn't work, you're probably better off calling a mechanic.

Thanks for bringing that up and for the helpful replies! Looks like that’s exactly what happened to mine, it's lost a bit of its spark over time. Haven’t tackled it yet, but the dealership is probably my best bet for a reboot.
